Amber & Ty

Amber and Ty are going to 'tie the knot' on August 15th. We got out on Monday to do the engagement photographs at the IMA.

This cute couple are the kind of people that look good together. They fit.
Ty was fun and so easy going during the session. I mention this only because I know it is right on top of the list of things guys don't look forward to doing. A photo session is typically an hour they could care less about. But I don't thunk Ty felt that way...and if he did...he's a good actor  ;-)

You can see their personalities come out in the photographs! They are fun and easy going.

We look forward to shooting & DJing the wedding!

Beth and Josh's beautiful wedding day!

I met Josh for the first time at a bonfire of mutual friends. I thought he was the nicest guy and seemed like a mini-me version of our own Tommy. He had the curls and longer hair and beard. I am fairly certain I never knew his first name only ever referring to him as Ratts. I knew he was cool when he was the only one to offer to run downtown maybe a couple of miles to the circle from Tommy's apartment when the Colts won the superbowl!

Beth, I had only met once at a surprise birthday party for Tommy but she was so nice. You could tell they made a wonderful couple.
So now with the curls and beard gone...deep down it is the same Ratts.

I was excited when they asked Tommy and I to photograph and DJ their wedding.
They were so much fun. Their parents were the last ones on the dance floor and they all enjoyed themselves. They have amazing family and friends.

They have a family tradition to make a quilt for the new couple and this has been passed down for years and years. That was a really special moment to watch. One of the bridesmaids and cousins ( I will let you stay anonymous ;) Is the life of the party and really got people going on the dance floor.

Tommy and I had a truly wonderful time at this wedding. Everything went off without a hitch! Thank you for being so wonderful and down for fun things in the photographs.

Here are some of my favorite shots from the wedding day!

Inspired...

Stephanie and Nick are some of the most open minded clients I have had the pleasure of doing engagement photographs for. They were willing,in the cold, to take off their shoes and walk in a creek and through the mud in the heels and cowboy boots. The results are fun and beautiful all at the same time. Really sweet and fun photographs. Here are some of my favorites from our day in Plainfield. We look forward to photographing your wedding next year!

Rob & Jenny...

Jenny and Rob are long-time friends of Tommy's.  When I met them I instantly felt so comfortable around them.  I think they make an amazing couple. There friends and family are so much fun and take you in and make you feel one of the group.

With all this support of their families, the whole event went really smooth and was a lot of fun.  The rehearsal started with duckpin bowling...which I happen to be horrible at...I will keep my day job. And then we ate some really delicious BBQ.

The wedding took place at Fountain Square Theatre. We did photographs before hand at the IMA.
Jenny and Rob chose to see each other prior to the ceremony which I thought made for some really special photographs of the two of them alone taking in that moment of seeing each other for the first time and exchanging gifts.

Thanks Jenny and Rob for letting be such a big part of your day!

I ♥ Tierneys

Kevin and Katie's wedding was perfect! From start to finish. Tommy and I left and talked about how much fun it was. We usually don't have weddings where the whole bridal party are so relatable and understanding. Everyone really had a "go-with-the-flow" attitude. We truly enjoyed hanging out with all of them!

The wedding was at a quaint place up in Michigan, Walden Woods, and the day had absolutely beautiful weather. The images have turned out great so far. I took thousands of images! And am not even near finished editing them. But thought that everyone deserved a little peak before I get all done.

Kevin & Katie, thank you so much for making us a part of your day. You could not of asked for a better day. It all went without a hitch.

I will be in touch soon with all the pics for you to enjoy and for now have fun checking out these few images!

Nicole and Michael...Seredipity?

When I first met Michael and Nicole I heard a story of how they met...I thought it was like something you would hear in a fairy tale.

Then I met Micheal's mother, Jan, the day of the wedding and she filled me in with more detail. The story became more unbelievable.

This wedding was met to be.

Nicole called it years ago...
Long story short this beautiful couple met in Florida while on vacation in high school. They are both from Indiana but met in Florida. They wrote letters and tried to keep in touch but the miles that separated them seemed insurmountable. But not for long. Years later Michael goes to Ball State to see some friends. He runs into Nicole again. This time they let nothing get in between their love.

After their beautiful and fun wedding they are now on their way to a happily ever after. Tommy and I had an absolute blast. From every detail from the customized coozies, to the beautiful decorating of the reception site the event will be one everyone will remember for a long time to come.

Thank you Michael and Nicole for letting us be a part of your very special day.

The Trinidad Triumph

...Sometimes you just know. You have that gut instinct. When I was watching Kim and AJ's wedding you just felt it was right. The bride and groom were glowing. But I think I saw equally as many smiles coming from Malique, the son of Kim and newest addition to all of AJ's family. It was not just the love between Kim and AJ that gave it away. It was the family of both Kim and AJ and how they melded so naturally together like they had all been friends for years. It was Malique's love towards AJ that was also heart warming.

This wedding was not just full of love but hours of laughter. Kim's family being from Trinidad they brought music and culture to the night.
Including a limbo during the dancing. A lot of talent was out there with the heels and the limbo stick.

Kim and AJ Congratulations and we very much enjoyed being a part of your wedding day.

Who knew I would want a motorcycle...?

I have ever thought of myself as a "biker chick"...but after this past weekend I am considering becoming one. The cool breeze blowing through your hair, the awesome outfits you get to buy just for the occasion. The fun stickers you can adorn your helmet with. The sense of camaraderie of fellow bikers on the road...

This past weekend Tommy and I had his cousin, Trish, in town. We are shooting and DJing their wedding in November and they came here for their engagement photos. We had known they had a motorcycle and we thought it would be fun to do some bike shots, so we asked, if possible, for them to bring it with. We were really excited when we found out they were bringing it.
I guess we were too excited...because I overshot by about a thousand photos. There were just too many opportunities...And I probably would of continued if it had not been too dark outside. However, it may have been hard to continue anyways, as i think Guido, Trish's fiancée, was worn out. But it was still a blast and we all four had a great time. I was inspired and they were easy going and up for anything.

So we spent the whole day downtown Indy. We started just by driving around the center of downtown shooting images. Then we went to abandon house I had wanted to shoot at for a while...well hopefully it was abandoned. We shot some fun images of them on the front porch and around this house. I loved the feel of this broken down house. We then went back to the hotel they changed and we enjoyed the nice weather around the canal. Guido and Trish got to get a nice glimpse of city life...something they are never going to see in the foothills of West Virginia, and that was a group of dorky looking people riding Segways around the canal. We all had a good laugh at that.

After the canal we took a lunch break. Then we changed back into biker gear and headed out to the countryside for some sunset shots. This took an hour or so and then we did just a few more back downtown at a fountain just north of the new library.

Guido and Trish are just the sweetest couple and are very much in love. You will see it all over there faces in these photos!

Trish and Guido we are so excited for your wedding!...Thanks for coming and hanging with us for a few days.

Here are so more shots from the session we thought you all might enjoy...check our website soon for a featured gallery of this lovely 'biker session.'

Be there or be Fountain Square...

On March 2nd Tommy and I headed out with our good friends Rob and Jenny to finally do their engagement photos. We had been holding out for a while hoping for a good snowfall to do the photographs in but when that didn't pan out we settled for a nice Sunday. The temperature was the nicest we have had and it was a perfect overcast day for really nice lighting.

I had found this broken down warehouse with the graffiti and the windows broken out of it and ivy creeping up the side the night before and thought that would be our first stop for some pics. As we were doing photographs there I was lamely excited to notice we were on Kentucky ave...and Rob and Jenny just so happened to have just moved to Kentucky so we had to do some photographs by the sign of course.

This was such a fun photo shoot for me. I was really into it and Jenny and Rob were a lot of fun to work with. Rob's only requirements were to get photographs of them doing the spider on the swing set...and when you go in with those kind of requirements I often times think you end up leaving with a lot more. I felt like I was in college again I had a million ideas and just not enough time to do them all...and to keep Jenny and Rob any longer would of just been probably ridiculous.

But we then finished up with our photos at the old building. Then we were off to Fountain Square the location of their 'big day'. There is an old diner right on the corner in town and we took some real fun shots there. One of our good friends, Phil Barcio, headed up this great art movement in Fountain Square last year. It really shows of the communities collective art spirit. It is called The Fountain Square Mural Project and it is happening again this year. Basically, it is a community beautification project and it was executed wonderfully. We wanted to capture this new part of Fountain Square in our pictures so we used some of the murals as a back-drop to our shots.

After the Fountain Square portion of our session...we headed to a park to find a swingset. You guessed it...for some good 'ol "Spider" action.

Their personality's shine through and through in these photographs I think and it was such a labor of love working on all the photographs.

Thanks Rob and Jenny and we can't wait for the wedding!
